Thus, the patient was consented for revision THA for a presumed
trunnion fracture.
The cast bolt carrier indirectly adds to the stress delivered to the
trunnion. While it works just fine from a functionality standpoint, the rougher cast surface requires a larger gas port to produce reliable cycling.
The
trunnion, front and rear sight bases and the gas block were originally installed by pressing them into place with tons of force.
I recommend not going any more than .0015" over
trunnion hole size.
By the way, a
trunnion mount inspection is now part of the crew/operator's BEFORE PMCS.
During postflight, the IP noticed the left main-strut
trunnion was not attached to the aircraft.
The
trunnion provides 120 degrees of tilt and 360 degrees of rotation for full simultaneous 5-axis motion or to position parts to any angle for machining.
Each half has a
trunnion fitted at 900 to the joint face: this required boring a hole in the fabrication, manufacturing and fitting the
trunnion to the required tolerance.
The unit consists of a
trunnion mounted drum manufactured in three ingenious sections, the first section removes gravel and soil, the second sticky products, such as leaves, and the third section large waste, such as pods and soil clods.
Various options may be added, including stream/water jacket, insulation, scraper blades, flush-mounted ball valves and
trunnion tilting.
The drip oil system for the
trunnion also plugs occasionally, causing metal grinding with subsequent repairs.
The suspension and brake systems of the latest versions of its TA3O and TA4O ADTs have received considerable attention, with the rear suspension now featuring
trunnion type suspension bushes to provide enhanced durability and reduced maintenance.
