BPR

originally called BBPR, a creative collective of Italian architects whose members were Gian Luigi Banfi (born 1910; died 1945 in the Fascist Mauthausen concentration camp in Austria), Lodovico Belgiojoso (born 1909), Enrico Peressutti (born 1908), and Ernesto Nathan Rogers (born 1909). In its creative work (a sanatorium in Legnano, 1937–38; a monument to the victims of war, 1948; and the skyscraper Torre Velasca, 1956–58, in Milan) the collective originally developed the principles of architectural rationalism and aspired toward a poetics of overall impression, considering national traditions and the historically evolved environment of the buildings.
