Posting in Livejournal/LJ cut tutorial
For those of you who do not know how to use Livejournal, this is for you.
1. Log into your Livejournal account.
2. To the left you will see the LIVEJOURNAL emblem. Below it, you see:
Journal, manage, search, help, about.
Let your mouse hover above the word "journal."
3. The (links) words:
Update, recent, archive, friends, info, memories, pictures
will appear.
4. Click on "update."
5. You will be taken to a screen where you'll see update journal, poster: you are currently logged in as ....the date, a place to write the subject, and a big white box where you can type whatever you want. Above it will say entry.
6. Below this box are the options:
Security-
Public- everyone, even if not in the community, can see the entry.
Friends- only those listed as friends will be able to see the entry.
Private- not really sure what this one is (never tried it) but I'm assuming only you will be able to see the entry.
Text formatting- keep it on "auto"
Music: Here you can put what song you're listening to and who it's by.
Mood: There should be (most likely default if you haven't chosen the "emotes" you want for the different moods already) little smileys in some shape or form- they have cats, pumpkins, smileys...to depict your mood. Click on the blue arrow and you'll see a ton of different moods. If you're in a certain mood, pick it.
This is all in a gray box.
7. In a smaller, long, gray box is:
Post to: Automatically it'll say your username. For example, it says awritersfantasy for me.
Click on the blue arrows and it'll say either your username, or the name of the community. In this case, it's enchantedlegend.
8. Make sure it is set to "enchantedlegend" as the "post to". When you are done with the post click update journal.
The page will refresh to a new one and will give you options. View the entry, edit the entry, or add to memories.
These are the main cuts that I know. To use them, take the * out of the tag or it will not work.
