This week I spent my time trying to get the speaker working again.I have finally got the speaker working. It makes subtle sounds. So I am still trying to trouble shoot it.

I have finally got the speaker working. It makes subtle sounds. So I am still trying to trouble shoot it.

I got a new fuse since the second one blew. After I installed the fuse, the speaker then started to make sounds when it was plugged and unplugged, and occasionally when the power button was turned was pressed. Clearly the fuse was not the only problem. The only thing that I could think of to check would be the wiring.

It looks as though the wire connections are all correct. The oscillator is working properly, and all the wires are connected to it. Check the circuit board on the back of the speaker.

The soldering is messed up. There is a bridge between the output pin and the ground. The output wire is soldered to the pin but the solder bridged the two pins. I de-soldered the pins and wire and re-soldered the wire and the output pin.

The speaker still doesn't work. I'll see if i can look up some tutorials on this project.

I had hoped to get the speaker working by now. However there are still some unresolved issues with it. I spent the rest of the time researching possible issues.

Week4 Narrative

Power Resister tester

I did research on which way the current flows in the circuit. It starts from the electrical outlet and goes to the transformer. the current then flows into the circuit board where it is maximized, and reduced multiple times. Then it goes though the multi-connector to the back of a mounted circuit board. there pins on the other side of the board that control the current and send it through wires that are soldered to them. One output is ground and the other is current. the ground wires are connected to the ground on the oscillator and on of the ground wires leading from the on/off button on the speaker box. The other ground wire goes from the on and off switch to the nine volt battery. the wire that leads from the mounted circuit board (the one that carries current)is connected to the 50hrz output of the oscillator. The 9 volt battery sends a 9 volt current into the oscillator, starting at the volt regulator. The 50hrz goes back through the muti connector and then to another connector which essentially leads to the volume control on the speaker box. After all this occurs the speaker should produce sound.
