| Should the July 23, 2026 Upper West Side stabbing of a Jewish congregant be included in this list if the entry uses carefully attributed language and reports that authorities charged the assault as a hate crime?
The incident received independent coverage describing the stabbing as apparently antisemitic, and prosecutors brought hate-crime charges. One editor contends that inclusion in this list would nevertheless state an unproven motive in Wikipedia’s voice and violate WP:BLP and WP:OR. Other editors contend that inclusion would reflect the reliable-source characterization rather than an editorial inference.
