Proposed change to Hazard-Bot's category creation

edit

Hazard-Bot creates a series of daily proposed deletion categories and puts them in en:Category:Proposed deletion. The bot also creates a string of text in the categories as well, to inform readers about the proposed deletion process. However, there is a sentence in these categories I don't quite agree with. I request the text be changed as follows:

(Proposed deletion of biographies of living people is an exception; the tag may not be removed until at least one reliable source is added.)
+
(Proposed deletion of biographies of living people is an exception; the tag cannot be removed until at least one reliable source is added.)

The reason for this is because Wikipedia:Proposed deletion of biographies of living people#Objecting makes it clear that the BLPPROD tag cannot be removed until at least one reliable source is added. The current wording gives off the impression that not adding sources before removing it is a maybe, rather than being forbidden as is policy. JHD0919 (talk) 16:06, 16 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

The source of that text is Template:Prod subcategory starter. I personally think "may not" and "cannot" are synonyms in this context and thus there's no need to change, though. * Pppery * in solidarity 16:57, 16 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
