Please link the word removed in this template's third sentence, so that it matches Template:Unreferenced. Newbzy (talk) 09:16, 8 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Description of suggested change: I noticed that this change removed the ability to link to a specific section of the talk page in the tag.

I request that this change be reverted and the ability reinstated. Many times, articles' talk pages contain references to be added to the article in the template Template:Refideas which is used on about 30,000 talk pages. In cases where the article itself doesn't have enough sources but they're on the talk page, it's useful to link to the specific section where those references are discussed or where the template is. An example of such an article is Jerome's, which also pairs the tag with Template:Sources exist to indicate that the article needs to incorporate the sources that are on the talk page.

Reinstating the parameter will also un-break other existing articles that rely on the parameter. I also noticed that the documentation page wasn't also edited to fully remove references to that parameter. If it was to actually be removed, then its removal should have been discussed here on the talk page, then the parameter should have been deprecated until its use was removed from existing pages, then it should have been removed.

Completed – the |talk= parameter has been reinstated, and the documentation once more reflects this template's reality. P.I. Ellsworth, ed.  welcome!  03:53, 18 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Sorry about that, I somehow didn't realize that it only shows that sentence when the talk parameter is added. No objections to the revert. Toadspike [Talk] 15:27, 20 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
