中文：此《十牛圖頌並序》南宋廓庵禪師著。其內容是以牧牛為主題，用十幅圖畫（尋牛、見跡、見牛、得牛、牧牛、騎牛歸家、忘牛存人、人牛俱忘、返本還源、入鄽垂手），寓意禪宗修心證道如牧牛。一序 ( 著語 ) 、一頌 ( 詩 ) 、一圖。此卷約繪製于日本弘安元年（1278），現藏於大都會藝術博物館。
兩宋以來，以牧牛比喻修道過程的詩歌為數甚多，其中又以廓庵禪師的《十牛圖頌》最為人熟知，流傳也最廣。這裡的牛，指的是吾人難調難伏的心，透過牧牛的十個過程，次第說明行者從找心、調伏、開悟、度化眾生的修練歷程。 「十牛」，是一種譬喻；「圖」，就是圖說；「頌」，就是用偈頌的方式，說明十牛圖的含義及其中的道理。 弘安戊寅仲秋之後一日書於十牛圖後 卷首題：住鼎州梁山廓庵和尚十牛圖 廓庵（師遠）禪師/和尚，約生活于南宋高宗紹興二十 (1150) 前後，臨濟宗楊岐派。 |
