I'm not an active or diligent listener or Dave. I knew about him, but only started listening to him after the release of his latest album "The Boy Who Played The Harp."
It wasn't until last week, that I decided to give his previous albums and songs a listen and I was simply shook by the versatility of this artist.
For not only is he talented in story telling rap and songs that make you think, he's also very good at dropping songs that get your body moving and waists grinding in the club.
I think the first thing one would note about this song is the beat. A beat that is as beautiful as the cover art.
A mixture of club afrobeat and English grime hasn't been made that good before.
Then we go to the lyrics themselves, With Dave bragging and Boj backing the brags up and it was just beautiful.
This is another beautiful song with a beautiful beat. Wizkid with his wonderful vocals and fluidity then Dave with the bars and verses that just leaves your head bobbing.
This is a song about ladies, money and the party lifestyle and from the riddim, you can feel it.
This one is a bit slower, think the slow sensual whine at the later later hours of the club.
Yet this song isn't the same as the last two who are bragging about numerous girls, this is about him talking calmly about his success with these ladies and relationships.
His wins in his career, his moves in his life and everything in between...
Burna in turn gives that heartfelt chorus and refrain that scratched that itch in your soul.
It's a club banger if I've ever heard one.
It's been a while but I think this is a rather nice post to use ease myself back in.
Happy #threetunestuesday @ablaze and any other readers still out there.
I'd be in the comments, be free to share which track you liked best.
