DVD fans community

I *really* need help with this, and this is the only community I could really ask... For a couple weeks now, since all of a sudden, whenever I tried to burn a music or video disk in my new DVD writer drive, Nero would only burn as an image file to my hard drive, or a 'virtual drive'. My dad tried re-installing Nero from a few different sources, and it only detects this 'virtual drive'. I have no idea what it is or where it came from. Does anyone know where I could find it and how to get rid of it?? Thanks!
