Dragdown:Wiki News Collection/2025.10.17
Wow, it's been nearly four months since the last time I wrote a newsletter. A lot has happened since then, including several new games being added.
Rivals 2
Let's first talk about Rivals of Aether II. Module:RoA2_Move_Card has been revised a lot since our last newsletter, including some new quirky features, and making some new edits that are interesting. We've also made quite a few changes to character subpages!
- The matchups pages have been updated to include knockdown percents per character and a much friendlier format for storing matchup notes. We don't have a lot of notes going on right now, but some groups in the background are actively working on them at the moment to get them written up.
- The starter kit pages are a new addition, and they have been super useful for characters to have. While not all the characters have them, they're still being worked on.
- The strategy pages have mostly not been revised as of late, but it'll likely be much more customised to each character, since it is difficult to structure every universal concept to characters uniquely.
- The combos pages have not been built yet. This is a page that can quickly escape scope of a general wiki, so it's important to only go as far as needed.
- The tech and resources pages need to be updated for many characters and comprehensively filled out.
I've been doing a lot of technical work lately, and I'm looking to get back into stuff that interests me like game knowledge. We'll slowly be shifting our focus to rounding out universal strategy, but it's not an easy topic to handle -- after all, this is not a subject that has been easily tackled by other games in the genre where information is centralised so easily.
Nickeldeon All-Stars Brawl 2
This game is a difficult one to handle, mostly because of the frame data and hit data that requires parsing. However, a lot of the writing details are already present, and people can already start contributing! Frame data is something that I am still working on in the background.
We've managed to create move cards, and we still are in need of uploading a bunch of in-game screenshots for characters. We also need to write more for system mechanics and universal strategy.
Project+
This is a game that has a long and storied history, and per request, I've been asked to be extremely particular about how to handle information regarding this game, with requiring a lot of fact checking and approvals from ranked players. Frame data is for the most part handled, but there is still a lot of work to be done for characters.
A Few Quick Matches
This is a small game, and the only things that have been really added are stats and cards, with no writing whatsoever. Once projectile frame and hit data is added, this is just a matter of finding writers who are willing to contribute.
General
Because of how much there is now to maintain on the wiki, I urge readers to join the wiki as contributors and help out. As someone who is uniquely required to handle a lot of the frame data parsing for the games, a lot of help is required. It doesn’t matter how good or bad you are at the game, or how good or bad you are at writing, or if you struggle to format things, as long as you have heart. If you want to help in literally anyway, including:
- Editing!
- Correcting grammar or language or tone
- Simplifying language to be less cluttery
- Correcting outdated information
- Writing!
- Writing character matchup notes
- Writing character strategy pages
- Helping translate top player notes into legible paragraph writing
- Asking top players for notes
- Being a top player and giving notes (read: you are a high-level player and want to help the wiki)
- Recording!
- Recording demonstration clips for gameplay situations
- Taking screenshots and making graphics that help illustrate gameplay states
- Creating diagrams for gameplay flowcharts
If you want to help in any way, join up, or spread the word. There will always be a spot for you to help contribute. None of this is a solo project, and even if you feel like there are shortcomings in your skillset, someone can help make up for that. Asking for help is always going to happen.
The wiki has progressed so far only because of the amount of creative control that I’ve had and the passion I have had, trial and erroring through the entire ordeal before finally finding something that works. Ultimately, the only things you need to work on the wiki are to be earnest and put in the work.
This is an ambitious project, and the only way to grow that ambition is get others to feel like that ambition is achievable.

It's been two months, but that's because a lot has happened. Wild week in general, not just for Rivals 2, but also for this wiki.
Module:RoA2 Move Card has been a huge overhaul over the last few months, and we've spent the last two days working on getting everything hooked up to it. Now, data should be a lot more presentable for characters! It's currently framed under the Template:RoA2 Move Card New template for ease of use. It'll still take some refining with the new format, but it should be a lot more useful now.
A lot of things are still being modified, but for now, character data and moveset data are all currently up-to-date. Character move descriptions and system mechanics will still need updating, but those will come with time.
That is all for now. Thanks!

Hi readers, it's Lynn! What a wild week.
The release of Olympia took a little bit for her to cooperate with us, but now all her frame data is up! Move descriptions are slowly being updated as more about her is being understood and taken apart.
In addition, we've reorganised RoA2/System Mechanics entirely -- now that it's split into many subpages, it will hopefully be much more manageable for readers in terms of responsiveness, doing away with the long load times that we encountered in the past. There are still some visual updates to be made, but it will hopefully be much better to navigate this way. We also added a RoA2/Ranked_Mode page.
There's also been a major rewrite of the floorhugging section! It has been largely simplified, no longer requiring an in-depth understanding of ASDI and SSDI as mechanics. Hopefully, sections like wall teching, DI, and SDI will also follow suit, since these are the subjects that seem to draw the most confusion in general.
In the meantime, we are probably going to be looking at new implementations for frame data displays. Expect to see some of that be changed over the next month. As a reminder, we're always going to have the most up to date information on Dragdown:Roadmap/RoA2.
As usual, if you want to contribute, join up! It can be as simple as just uploading images that need to be added, writing pieces of game knowledge, or helping with technical aspects of the wiki. If you know something about Rivals 2 and want to help, get in!
Dragdown:Wiki News Collection/2025.03.25
Hello readers! I'm Lynn, and for the past few months, I've been helping to lead the Rivals of Aether II project. The other editors and I have been working hard, ever since the game's release, with its addition to this wiki. The wiki was in a rough state in the beginning when it came to getting things looking right, and it was sorely lacking in information. I myself joined in November, and since then, I've been tirelessly working away at this project.
We have come a long way from where we were at the time of release. We really only had barebones character data, many missing asset images, mechanics descriptions that were lifted from other games without enough investigation, and many character pages were straight up blank with no info on them whatsoever. Where are we now? All the character overview pages have complete frame data, hit data, and descriptions on move usages. All the cosmetics, icons, and emotes are available for viewing. Perhaps the thing I'm most proud of, however, is System Mechanics, the page that really contains every little detail about how the game works. And yes, it even has a section that explains floorhugging, one of the most debated topics of the game. Personally, I'm very happy with the work that we've been able to do on it.
So where does that leave us now? While the Rivals 2 wiki is now currently in a very usable state for players, there are still places which require a lot of improvement. Character subpages are missing, and other visual upgrades are also still in the works. Yes, we know that some pages are so intensive that they manage to crash it, and we're working to figure that out as well. For a full roadmap of what we're working to add, you can visit our roadmap.
All that is to say, I'm proud of the work we've done, but there's plenty more work to still do. If you want to help, spread the word! A lot of people don't know the wiki exists, or they don't trust the wiki's quality because it was pushed during the game release, when none of the writing was present.
You can also join as a contributor, whether it be helping with screenshot uploads, pretty tables, writing, editing, or just giving feedback. We discuss many things in our Discord server.
Things to look out for in the future:
- Starting in May, we'll be fleshing out all the character pages. If you've got good competitor or labber experience with the character, please join the Discord and reach out (if we don't already reach to you ahead of time). If you know anybody who would be well-suited for this project, let them know too!
- There's also going to be the Olympia update. It'll likely take an hour or two for Olympia info to be online, and a little more time for uploading Olympia screenshots. Anybody who is available to contribute on that day is greatly appreciated.
- Many of our active contributors are currently fully focused on Rivals 2, including our active admins, and we're going to be pushing full steam ahead for the next few months.
All in all, thank you for reading and using the wiki. The hours and days spent working on this project are truly the most fulfilling whenever we hear someone bring it up on stream or in passing, and hearing people state how useful the wiki is makes it all the more gratifying. It means a lot!
