Troubleshooting Overlay

The Overlay bookmarklet works best for customers with high traffic to their homepage or section pages. High traffic means multiple clicks on multiple slots (positions on a page) within any given 10-minute window.

The following cases will not work with Overlay:

• A slot receives fewer than 1 click within the last 10 minutes.
• Slots link to non-posts.
• Slots link to different sites, i.e., sites that do not share the same Parse.ly Site ID.
• The page being viewed is a Google AMP page.
• Traffic comes from mobile apps.
• Parse.ly cookies are blocked, especially the _parsely_slot_click cookie.
• Browser extensions conflict with Overlay — disable these if needed.
• The wp-parsely WordPress plugin is being used along with the setting that disables tracking of logged-in users. In this case, log out of WordPress to use Overlay.
