Our site, www.gojobs.com/seeker/jobsearch.asp , is currently self-hosted, with multiple servers, using ASP. Net and SQL.
Obviously, with all the Microsoft Licensing, its expensive to maintain.
I’m hearing a lot about PHP these days.
Has anyone done a major migration from Microsoft to PHP on the web?
One of the big issues would be page naming.
Many of our existing pages are .asp, while some are .html, such as
http://gojobs.com/networking-jobs.html
SEO is a major traffic issue for us, so we don’t want to kill those old pages, but try to do a parallel site, some in php, some on asp.
Has anyone done this?
Your feed back would be greatly appreciated.
