Writer's Block: Long ago and far away
Do you wish you had grown up in another time and/or place? if so, when, where, and why?
This might seem like a bad case of fangirling over Kuroshitsuji but: I'd love to have grown up in the Victorian Era. Such pretty dresses, parties, kings & queens, the oriental merchandise was important and had a certain mystery, or charm even. The proper ways to talk, walk, eat. Classic music was fashionable and so were Opera and Teather. Everything about that time sounds enchanting, the good, noble life parts I mean. Because yeah, I studied about those times in school, so I know how their hygene habits were different - and bad. How poor people had it hard. How women weren't exactly free to choose. And don't get me started on arranjed marriages.
But, even so, the enchanting life of a noble, I'd like to try it. And of course, the place would be either England or Italy.
If not, I'd love to have known more about Feudal Japan. Yet again my otaku side kicking in. But it sounds like an interesting period of time, mostly because we don't learn much about Japan in school, at least not in Portugal.
Now that I think about it, the world is so full of good places and interesting History....It's hard to choose really.
But, I'm someone used to technologies, the past wouldn't work for me, as I am now, for more than one day. But, if I were to be reborn, I'd like time to go back for me to be able to experience such wonderful periods.
Of course, I still have to talk about the present. If I could just go back 18-19 years, I'd love to have grown up in England, USA or Japan. For a simple couple of reasons - Portugal has a crappy education system and is culture-retarded :/ .
