Yesterday, I attended my first ever hackathon as a fresher. The event was organized at ThoughtWorks, located in Taramani, and the theme was "Built to Learn". It was a great opportunity for me to see how a hackathon works and to learn new things.
There were many teams with interesting projects and ideas. I was really inspired by the energy and creativity around me.
During the event, We met a lady who had an idea for a project called "Layer Dashboard". She was not from a coding background and needed help to bring her idea to life. So, we formed a team and decided to help her.
I took the responsibility to design the layout for the dashboard. Our team worked on building an interactive UI (User Interface). Another team was working on the backend part of the project.
Even though we couldn't complete the project fully, it was a wonderful learning experience. Since we are freshers, we didn’t have many ideas at first. But by working together, we learned a lot—about teamwork, UI design, and how hackathons work.
The hackathon environment was very positive and motivating. I got to see many different kinds of projects and learned by watching and interacting with others.
I’m not sure if I contributed much as a beginner, but I am very happy that I learned something new and got a chance to be part of a real project. This experience has motivated me to learn more and be better prepared for future hackathons.
