ME Network 2.0: Modular Blockchain Infrastructure Built for Real Scalability

Meta Earth has launched ME Network 2.0—a modular blockchain stack designed from the ground up to solve scalability, composability, and economic inefficiencies of current L1 and L2 architectures. Activated at block height 6,624,500 on May 19, 2025, this update, dubbed the Odyssy Phase, introduces a decoupled execution-settlement-data architecture, cross-chain compatibility, and a robust incentive mechanism that targets both early adopters and protocol-level contributors.

Modular Architecture: RollApp + ME-Hub + ME-DA

ME Network 2.0 moves beyond monolithic design with a three-layer modular stack:

  • Execution Layer (RollApp): Sovereign rollups with configurable VMs (EVM/WASM), customizable fee models, and independent upgrade paths.
  • Settlement Layer (ME-Hub): Serves as the canonical coordination layer for RollApp state roots, identity anchoring, and cross-chain execution.
  • Data Availability Layer (ME-DA): Optimized with 2D Erasure Coding and Data Availability Sampling (DAS), reducing storage costs by ~98%.

This modularity allows dApp developers to deploy app-specific rollups with high throughput, optimized fees, and flexible programming models.

Unified Token Economy via MEC-CI and MEC-DA

Unlike fragmented tokenomics in most rollup ecosystems, ME Network introduces a native multi-layer asset: MEC. It powers all layers with sub-denominations:

  • MEC-CI: RollApp-level gas fees and governance.
  • MEC-DA: Data availability payments.

Users only pay local RollApp fees; Sequencers abstract away cross-layer costs and settle them via protocol-level liquidity.

Security Model: Slashing, ZKP Compression, and Watch Relayers

Security is anchored in a decentralized Sequencer network built on CometBFT with slashing for malicious actors, fraud proofs, and ZK compression via Groth16 (cutting gas cost of proof handling by ~90%).

A Watch Relayer layer monitors and reports state discrepancies or anomalies in real time, ensuring execution integrity and availability.

Fast Interoperability with MBC Protocol

ME Network’s Multi-Blockchain Communication (MBC) protocol addresses L2 withdrawal latency by introducing:

  • Prepaid liquidity via market makers
  • Incentivized fraud reporting
  • Instant finality bridges

Combined with Ethermint-based EVM compatibility and dual VM support (EVM & WASM), the protocol bridges Ethereum, Cosmos, and RollApp networks with seamless asset transfers and dApp portability.

Identity, Privacy, and Cross-Chain Proofs

ME ID enables DID-based identities with on-chain certificate hashes and off-chain encrypted storage. Users can verify identity proofs across chains without exposing private data—paving the way for Sybil-resistant reward distribution and community governance.

Airdrop Mechanics & Developer Incentives

ME Network 2.0 offers programmable airdrops and on-chain contribution tracking via ME Pass 3.0. Key reward mechanisms include:

  • Unconditional MEC staking (UBI)
  • Daily login flows
  • KYC-based verification
  • Referral incentives (via on-chain ID)
  • Monthly disbursements to verified addresses

Staking yields up to 25% APY, with dynamic gas pricing designed to penalize Sybil strategies and maintain fairness in reward flows.

ME Pass 3.0: SDKs + UX + dApp Integration

  • The ME Pass app has been rebuilt to act as the gateway to the ecosystem:
  • Built-in NFT manager (mint/browse/send)
  • Cross-chain wallet with RollApp ↔ ME-Hub transactions
  • Access to ME Mini-Programs (dApps) via the Explore section
  • Developer SDKs for building custom reward systems, wallet hooks, or airdrop flows

Global Events & Developer Engagements

Meta Earth will be presenting ME Network 2.0 in person at key Web3 events:

  • Istanbul Blockchain Week (June)
  • WebX Asia (Tokyo, August)
  • TOKEN2049 (Singapore, October)

These events will feature tech deep dives, demo sessions, and onboarding support for developers looking to build on or integrate with ME Network 2.0.

Why It Matters to Developers

ME Network 2.0 is not just another chain. It’s an ecosystem architecture designed for dev-first modularity:

✅ Deploy your own RollApp with custom VMs
✅ Integrate with Cosmos or Ethereum in minutes
✅ Plug into a unified economic layer (no fragmented tokenomics)
✅ Contribute to core modules, relayers, or Sequencers
✅ Earn MEC via staking, contribution, or protocol rewards
