What We’d Do Differently (If We Were Starting Over)

When we started building ITConnect, we were full of ideas and motivation.
And honestly — that was a great thing.

But now, after months of coding, designing, adjusting, and learning the hard way…
we can finally look back and say:
“Here’s what we would do differently, if we started from scratch today.”

💬 A few honest lessons:

  • Start with fewer features
At the beginning, we wanted everything: job posts, messaging, interviews, smart recommendations…
Now we know: start simple — and build on what works.

  • Set clear team roles early
There were moments where we weren’t sure who was doing what.
Now we have structure, and it helps a lot.

  • Plan less, test more
We redesigned some screens 3–4 times… without trying them in real use.
Big lesson: design is nothing without context.

  • Get outside feedback earlier
We love our ideas — but we’ve realized how valuable it is to hear from people who aren’t building with us.

🤍 Final thought?
The mistakes we made… are also the reason we’re moving forward.
Every choice, even the imperfect ones, taught us something important.
And honestly, we wouldn’t trade this journey for anything.
