International Albinism Awareness Day

This is a submission for Frontend Challenge - June Celebrations, CSS Art: June Celebrations.

What I Built

I developed an educational landing page for International Albinism Awareness Day (June 13) focused on promoting understanding, dispelling myths, and celebrating the diversity of people with albinism.

The page features personal stories, educational resources, advocacy information, and ways to support the albinism community. It emphasizes dignity, inclusion, and human rights while providing practical resources for families and individuals.

Journey

This project required sensitive handling of important social issues while creating an informative and empowering experience.

I researched extensively to ensure accuracy and respectful representation, consulting resources from advocacy organizations and medical professionals.

The design focuses on accessibility and clarity, using high contrast colors, clear typography, and intuitive navigation. I included interactive elements that engage visitors while maintaining the serious nature of human rights advocacy.

What I'm most proud of is creating a resource that can genuinely help reduce stigma and promote understanding. The page balances educational content with personal stories, making the information both informative and emotionally resonant.

Special attention was paid to mobile accessibility, ensuring the content reaches the widest possible audience.

Future enhancements could include multilingual support for global advocacy efforts, integration with donation platforms, and community features where visitors can share support messages. Education and awareness are powerful tools for creating positive change, and this landing page aims to be a meaningful contribution to that effort.
