Lady Boyle’s Last Party remains one of the most atmospheric and memorable missions in gaming for me.

I recently realized that in nearly fifteen years, I’ve never once drawn Lydia, Esma, or Waverly Boyle. Somehow, I always end up circling back to the Outsider and Emily, with a small side obsession involving Daud.

But Dishonored’s supporting cast is every bit as intriguing and memorable as its protagonists. Sometimes, I’d even argue they’re more interesting.

And I hope you’ll forgive my shameless addiction to chromatic aberration. It’s become my newest artistic vice.

So, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider isn’t exactly a bad game, but man, the story leaves me with a lot of questions. Still, I remember already thinking back during Dishonored 2 about what it would actually mean to “humanize” the Outsider.

And honestly? The more interesting question isn’t how they did it in the game, but who he’d be if he was just… mortal. Like, imagine him stripped of the Void’s powers, just a regular guy trying to make it through. Sure, Billy, Corvo, and Emily would probably have his back in the beginning, but after that? He’s gotta figure out a life for himself.

And that’s where it gets fun—because even without the Void, he still has centuries of knowledge and perspective. So yeah, I can totally see the Outsider ending up as… a history professor. A little sardonic, probably way too sharp for his own good, but damn, can you imagine the lectures?

I drew a light 2D art with a The Outsider and a mimic for inktober. I thought it would be an interesting crossover. Six months later, I still think it’s cool. That’s why I gave this sketch a fulfilling life.

The impossible dream of every Overseer. How many of these bearers of the Outsider’s Mark are there, anyway? Eight? Perhaps. But every heretic must be brought to justice.

Truth be told, I’ve never been much of an Overseer fan. Maybe it’s because I bear the Mark myself… heh.

Still, they’re fascinating in their own right and absolutely worth exploring. Then again, that’s true of nearly every corner of Dishonored’s world.
