[ The lighting in Rapture is pretty bad, but it's enough to make the dark shadows in Kurt's fur a little blue around the edges. He certainly needs the illumination; his eyes are noticeably dim and pale. At least he's wearing a clean shirt, although it's the same threadbare stuff he's been wearing on the Titanic. He looks, charitably, like shit. ]
Hello everyone. I hope many of you are seeing this.
I know that things are not so good. To put it mildly. I never thought I would miss our strange and difficult little town, but.. here we are.
On that note, I would like to invite everyone who can to come to the greeting hall tonight, that is the place where we came out from the Lighthouses. I believe that we must remember that we are not a group of individuals, but a community. A family. OK, a very large and weird family, but those are the best ones, no? [ He gives a weary but genuine smile. ]
If you have supplies you can share with others, please bring them tonight. Please tell others that might not see this message as well. I.. I don't know if there is anything here which will object to us coming together all at once, but if there is, I promise we will make sure everyone is safe.
Thank you. I hope to see you later on.

Please come and hand over your resources? Sounds like a ploy. We're not all family here. Some of us don't do family.
[But Walker is sure some people will be foolish enough to throw down everything they have at the chance to hold hands and sing songs with others.]
video
There's no obligation to come. I wouldn't want to force anyone to attend where they don't believe themselves welcome.
Re: video
Gathering everyone publicly could be dangerous. There are locals here who are scavenging for supplies just as much as we are. I think I saw one wearing another one's face a couple hours ago. Can you protect your 'family'?
[She almost sounds as though she doesn't want people to get hurt. It's hard to tell with such a monotone voice.]
no subject
Danke, I'm aware of the risks. If we are going to survive these dangers we need to know more about them, and making sure we are acting as a community will help that. [ He sounds a little like he's trying to convince himself as much as he is Walker. ] We are not.. we can't just split apart and hope to survive.
no subject
[She's not used to relying on others.]
But there are some people here who might not be able to.
[There are people who are young, lack powers, or combat experience.]
At least have some security in place before people start showing up. These dangers... you must've seen and heard the locals. I'm not sure there's much to know. They've snapped.
[Maybe they'll all go insane if they hang around this city long enough.]

I looked for you. You were so fucked up- what even happened? Did you get off okay? I mean... you look like shit so- [but he doesn't want to ask 'did you die?' so he peters off, rubbing the back of his neck.] I don't know. Maybe a miracle happened.
I'm still pretty mad at you for the whole kidnap-rescue thing. [Not really. Not at all.]
no subject
I'm still pretty sorry for the whole kidnap-rescue thing. [ He sobers a little. ] I'm so glad to see you here safe.
no subject
[Because he has very poor judgement and even poorer self-preservation. ]
But at least I was able to check up on people from the boats.
I don't- [he doesn't want to ask, but he needs to know] what happened to you? After.
no subject
I must look worse than I think. I suppose I'll have to be glad there aren't many mirrors here.
no subject
I mean, no one wants to look like they lost a fight with a thresher.
[He hesitates, then a little softer:] Are you sure you're okay?
no subject
no subject
...No, I guess not. That was a pretty shitty time. Did you see the sharktopuss? That was fucking messed up. One tried to eat Thom.
no subject
Rather too closely for comfort, ja. Is Thom all right?
no subject
[Blue dad, he has such concerns.]
Yeah, he's good. He's tough as nails.
[Superhero in training and all, but Louis knows Thom's touchy about talking about that- it's not his secret to share.]
no subject
[ He lets out a short breath. ]
Towards the end, I.. fell into the water, and had an encounter with one of the shark creatures. I'll be fine though, Louis, I really don't want you to worry about me. Where are you? Are you safe? Do you need supplies?
no subject
[Still, he knows it'll put Kurt at ease to know he's ok. He won't withhold that, at least.]
I'm fine, I'm safe. "Supply runner" is one of my jobs back home, I'm good at scrounging up what I need.
[He always fares well whenever Deerington decides to put the clamps down on their survival tools. Thanks, shitty home world!]

Good. Jean-Paul and Wes and I are in the Medical Pavilion. If you need anything, or a place to go, you are welcome here as well.
no subject
Sounds like a smart place to set up camp. Is there actually all that much in the way of medical supplies, or is it just named ironically at this point? Honestly, I'd buy it either way.

He shakily turns on his own video feed, pretty sure the man will be able to recognise him too. ]
I-I'm sorry.
[ Getting right to it, aren't you Peter? But he remembers how he'd cowered from this man, and while admittedly there's a large part of him that's still afraid, he's remembered that there are all sorts of different... types of people, at Deerington. He's still pretty sure the man is some sort of demon, and that subject is still a difficult one for Peter, but he had... helped him. No doubt saved his life. ]
I'm sorry for... [ The teen's voice catches, wavers. ]
no subject
He speaks quickly but gently, trying to reassure him. ]
Hey, it's all right. Please don't apologise, you did nothing wrong. I'm glad you're okay.
no subject
But he can see it now, in this man: how worn he seems, and he can remember how.. ill he'd seemed on that awful night with all of the screams, all of the death. He remembers the blood and the pain in this man β it had frightened Peter then, but now that he's able to look back with less cloudy eyes, he can see it in a different form. He remembers how he'd knelt with him, kind despite being in pain, and Peter's learned how to recognise kindness now β something his past self would flinch from as though from a wound, but something he's now able to let himself be drawn towards, carefully.
Even now, this man is being kind to him in ways Peter doesn't think he deserves. ]
You probably saved my life. IβI think you did, actually. [ He is ashamed of how he'd reacted to him, dark eyes staying downcast. ]
I wanted to say thank you.
no subject
Still, he gets the feeling that, for Peter, being able to offer his thanks is an important act, even though all the gratitude Kurt needed was the trust that allowed him to save his life in the first place. So he doesn't turn that gift aside, and smiles gently. ]
Bitte schΓΆn. You're welcome.
[ His expression becomes a shade more serious as he studies what he can see of Peter's surroundings. ]
Are you somewhere safe here?

Thank you for saying it. Are you alright? Memories intact?

I'm in an enclosed space. It's not too damp, and I've got at least a little food and some security measures in place. So... considering this rotten, rusty little hell hole? I'm going to call that a victory.
You?
no subject
I'm.. [ Pause. ] It's good to know you're safe, Vira-Lorr.
no subject
[She nodded gratefully and smiled back at him.]
As safe as anyone is here. I like to think of myself as a survivor... and the sleepwalking is starting to get ... less obtrusive.
