Netflix has picked up a third season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones. The renewal comes a little more than a month following its second-season launch on March 8, International Women’s Day.
The series, starring Krysten Ritter as New York City PI Jones, was the second Netflix-Marvel series to launch behind Daredevil and followed by Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Punisher.

In Season 2, Jones is beginning to put her life back together after murdering her tormenter, Kilgrave. Now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why.
Along with Ritter, cast includes Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth and Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse.
The series is executive produced by showrunner Melissa Rosenberg along with Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. Marvel’s Jessica Jones is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.
Terrible season 2 after a phenomenal first season. Please, new showrunner.
One more season before it moves to Hulu
It’s not moving to Hulu. All the Netflix Marvel series are staying with Netflix because Netflix pays for them entirely. This has already been established. Stop pushing fake news.
Meanwhile, of course Netflix is going to renew Jessica Jones. It’s the only female-led Marvel series they have. Imagine the uproar if they cancelled Jessica Jones but kept all the guys (Daredevil, Punisher, Iron Fist, Luke Cage)?
In an era where there are countless shows structured to keep you wanting more more more, I’m baffled by the continued dramatic intertness of these Netflix/Marvel shows.
But then why change when plodding, self-serious junk like JJ is anointed as must-watch TV by the ink-stained wretches.
After 3 seasons of shows, they’ll probably have enough story for a whole season.
These seasons should be six episodes. Too much filler.
yeah familys tragic death, govt experiments, super soldiers, lawyers affair and subsequent divorce, child star trying to escape typecasting, investigative journalism, mind control, rape, PTSD, alcoholism and sex addiction, mysterious innocent man with unbreakable skin on the run from the law and trying to solve wife’s murder, drug use and the aftermath of sobriety and addiction… yup, NO story there.
