📢 traceless® opens first industrial production facility for nature-based material innovation📢 Today, we reached a milestone we have been working toward since our founding in 2020: Together with political, industry, and business representatives — including Carsten Schneider, Federal Minister for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety Bundesministerium für Umwelt, Klimaschutz, Naturschutz und nukleare Sicherheit (BMUKN), and Katharina Fegebank, Senator for the Environment, Climate, Energy and Agriculture (Behörde für Umwelt, Klima, Energie und Agrarwirtschaft (BUKEA)) — we celebrated the opening of the world’s first industrial production facility for a next-generation natural polymer technology. At the facility, plant-based residues from the agricultural industry are processed into an innovative material that can be used as a natural plastic substitute — designed for biological circularity and leaving no trace. For us, this moment marks far more than the opening of a new site. Since founding traceless®, our vision has been to prove that innovative nature-based materials can move beyond the lab and pilot into industrial scale to create the biggest possible impact. With this facility, that vision is becoming reality. As Anne Lamp, CEO & Founder of traceless®, puts it: “With this plant, we are creating the world’s first industrial production capacities for thermoplastic natural polymers that can be used directly as plastic substitutes. This opening marks the launch a new materials industry — circular, clean, and future-oriented.” Spanning approximately 4,000 square meters, the new headquarters in Hamburg-Harburg have a capacity of approximately 3,000 tons of traceless® material per year. The facility will serve renowned pioneering customers in the future—such as the paper and packaging manufacturer Mondi Group, the e-commerce company OTTO, and the distribution partner Biesterfeld Group. All central areas of the plant have already been successfully commissioned, and production will be ramped up gradually over the coming months. The investment volume for the plant exceeds €20 million. The project was funded with an amount of €5,128,401 from the Environmental Innovation Programme of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey: our team, partners, customers, investors and supporters. This milestone belongs to all of you. And this is just the beginning. Brussels has spoken on natural polymers 🇪🇺🌿📢 The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) — the EU body representing organised civil society in European policymaking — has officially adopted an own-initiative opinion on natural polymers, adopted with an impressive 211 votes in favour. What does the opinion say? ➡️ The EESC calls on the EU to recognise natural polymers as a distinct, non-plastic material category. ➡️ It acknowledges that materials whose optimal end-of-life is biological recycling must have an adequate compliance pathway under the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). ➡️ It calls for solutions that reflect the reality of natural polymers, not legacy classifications designed for conventional plastics. ➡️ It recognises the socioeconomic opportunity. Natural polymers derived from agricultural residues support rural livelihoods and the sustainable use of biomass, with no conflict with food production and connecting industrial innovation to agricultural value chains. This matters hugely for the industrial scale-up of natural polymers because the EESC opinion shifts the institutional picture. A European institution has now gone on record, situating natural polymers squarely within the EU's circular economy agenda and calling for the regulatory framework to catch up. At traceless materials, we are EU pioneer for next generation natural polymer technologies. We develop and produce materials based on unmodified natural polymers derived from agricultural residues - plastic-free, home-compostable, and designed for applications where material recycling does not work in practice. Regulatory clarity at EU level is key for industrial scale-up 🚀 We are ready! There are many different reasons to go traceless®, but in the end, they all come down to the same thing. Expectations of what materials should do are changing. For decades, we have designed materials to last, even when the products they are used for don’t. With traceless® we take a different approach 🌿 We believe that nature already created a system in which materials serve their purpose and then return safely, without leaving a trace. Rather than reinventing that system, we are bringing it into industrial reality. With that, traceless® is part of a new material class. We combine what has long been seen as a trade-off - between performance, scalability, and environmental compatibility - and unite it in one material 🤝 Ready to go traceless®? The right collaborations are what turn material innovation into industrial implementation 🚀 We are excited to highlight our long-standing partnership with CompriseTec GmbH, an experienced polymer specialist – especially in injection moulding. As a biobased and home-compostable natural polymer-based thermoplastic, traceless® represents a new material class 🌿 - completely plastic-free, yet processable like conventional thermoplastics. But developing a novel material is only the first step. If the past years have shown one thing, it is this: scaling new materials requires more than innovation, it requires industrial validation. With injection moulding being one of the key processing technologies for traceless®, industrial feasibility cannot be proven in theory - it must be proven on machines. That is why, for several years now, we have been working closely with CompriseTec to test and evaluate the processability and scalability of traceless® materials under real production conditions. Together, we focus on what truly defines industrial readiness: · Processability on standard injection moulding machines (hydraulic/electric) · Compatibility with cold- and hot-runner systems · Processing of industry grade high quality products in reliable processes comparable to conventional polymers · Lower processing temperatures compared to many conventional plastics (110-130 °C) · Suitability for multi-cavity moulds · Reproducibility and material data for flow and process simulation[SK1] · Scalability beyond pilot stage This long-standing collaboration plays a key role in bringing traceless® from innovation to implementation. In our latest blogpost, we spoke with Simon Kaysser from CompriseTec, and traceless®’ injection moulding application engineer Philipp Mechelk about our partnership, traceless®’ processability & scalability and what industrial readiness really means from a converter’s perspective. 👉 Read the full conversation here: https://lnkd.in/eYbm7vNa #traceless #injectionmoulding #naturalpolymers #industrialinnovation #plasticfree

🔍 traceless® Talks: In what form can I buy traceless®? A question we regularly receive when talking to partners and converters. In short: traceless® is a material, not an end-product. We develop and produce traceless® materials in granulate form. The granulates are thermoplastic and plastic-free, and can be processed on existing production lines using established technologies such as: • Injection moulding • Extrusion • Film processing Depending on the application and processing technology, we offer different material grades tailored to specific requirements - for example our injection moulding grades developed for rigid, semi-rigid or flexible applications. What does that mean in practice? We don’t manufacture end-products ourselves. Instead, we work closely with converters and brand partners along the value chain, who process traceless® materials into final products - from packaging solutions to injection moulded parts. This approach allows us to focus on what we do best: developing a new class of materials based on natural polymers, while enabling our partners to integrate these materials into their existing production systems. 💡 So if you’re looking to: • test traceless® on your production line • evaluate material grades for your application • explore how natural polymers can complement your portfolio 📩 Get in touch with our sales team: sales@traceless.eu Because the future of materials is here, and it runs on your production lines. #traceless #NaturalPolymers #InjectionMoulding #Extrusion #MaterialInnovation #CircularEconomy #PlasticFree #Bioeconomy

What makes packaging truly future-proof? At the Deutscher Verpackungskongress 2026 our Head of Strategic Growth & Alliances Philip Ortin took the stage for a talk followed by a discussion with around 250 industry experts. He shared a perspective that stayed with us: If we want to build future-proof packaging, we need to start thinking in circles 🟢 Not just in terms of circularity as a concept, but in how we approach the entire system. Because packaging doesn’t exist in isolation - it sits within a network of product requirements, regulation, supply chains, and sustainability expectations. Only when these pieces are considered together can the system truly work. This is what a 360° perspective means in practice: - Designing materials fit for use - functional for the application, not just meeting specs - Aligning with evolving frameworks like PPWR and SUPD - Ensuring solutions can scale within existing infrastructures and value chains - Delivering on circularity promises - reducing waste, emissions, and leaving no trace. 💡 The key takeaway of Philip's talk? Future-proof packaging isn’t about over- or under-design – it’s about fit-for-use solutions that are circular, scalable, and safe. At traceless®, we are working within exactly this context – developing natural polymer materials from agricultural residues that are designed to perform in real applications while enabling circularity by design. And over the years, one thing has become clear to us: this shift cannot happen alone. It requires close collaboration across the value chain - from regulation to material suppliers to converters to brand owners and consumers. Only if the system works as a whole, the circle can close 🌍 Thanks to the Deutsches Verpackungsinstitut e. V. for bringing this discussion together. #Packaging #CircularEconomy #Bioeconomy #Innovation #traceless
