Gerry Conway (b. September 10, 1952 – d.April 26, 2026) was an American writer, editor and producer. He was best known for his extensive and acclaimed work at DC Comics and Marvel Comics beginning in the late 1960s, when he was a teenager. His work for DC included co-creating Firestorm, Power Girl, Jason Todd and Killer Croc among many others.
Professional History
After decades of writing for comic books, Conway provided numerous scripts for the Law & Order television franchise, and he was a writer and producer on many television series.
Personal History
Gerry Conway was married to Laura Beth Conway, a writer and producer of web series. Gerry had two children from previous marriages, Cara and Rachel, and a stepson from his marriage with Laura, Matthew. In later years, Gerry and Laura resided in the Conejo Valley near Los Angeles, California. Cara's mother, Carla Conway, was also a writer for DC and Marvel and co-wrote stories with Gerry during their marriage. Conway died of cancer in April 2026.[1]
