There have been several unrelated characters in the DC Universe to use the name Battleaxe. The original was a guitar-playing member of the Netherworlders who encountered Hawkman. There was also an extraterrestrial hero named Battleax who fought alongside the Outsiders. The third Battleaxe is an assassin who tried to kill Katana. That last Battleaxe was reintroduced after Flashpoint as a member of the Suicide Squad.
The first Battleaxe was created by John Ostrander and Tim Truman, first appearing in Hawkworld (Volume 2) #30 (1993).
