Crackfic! Ahoy!

Okay...this little piece of fic was inspired by melisus's AMAZING Halloween drawing with the Beatles in Star Fleet Uniforms. I was then promised she would draw George and Spock with Dueling Lyres if I would make fic. So here it be.

Title: Act Naturally
Fandoms: Star Trek and the Beatles
Characters: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Spock and Captain Kirk
Rating: PG
Summary: Ringo wonders what George is smoking.

"I don't know if this is such a good idea, Geo." Ringo said dubiously as they wandered down the hallway of the Enterprise. "I mean, don't the Vulcans have some kind of death grip or something?"

George rolled his eyes theatrically, a talent the drummer wished he had. "Ringo, those are the kinds of  misconceptions that held back relations between humans and Vulcans for years! They're just misunderstood. Besides, where are you getting your information from? Paul?"

Ringo stared at the lead guitarist. "Now I KNOW you've gone barmy." he muttered. "Besides, John was the one who told me about the death grip anyway."

"Vulcans are pacifists, Ringo." George corrected as they resumed their walking.

"Speak English, lad!" the drummer complained.

"They don't like violence." the younger man ammended.

"No violence? I bet they wouldn't like watching the Man U games, would they?"

"Probably not." George snickered. As they walked around the corner, they spied Captain Kirk and John engaged in a rather heated argument and from what they could gather, it seemed that John had been caught hanging around Yeoman Rand and the Captain was rather aggravated about it. Paul was standing nearby looking rather smug but then again, why wouldn't he with Nurse Chapel hanging on his every word?

"At least she's better than Yoko." Ringo shrugged and George nodded vigerously. "MOST people would be better than Yoko!" he shot back.

"I dunno Geo...those Romulans are kinda shady." Ringo reminded him with a shiver. He'd read some nasty things about them in the ship's library.

"Yeah...that's true." George nodded. "Now come on! I'm going to be late for my lyre lesson!"

Ringo rolled his eyes as George went hurrying off. "There's something wrong with that boy." he sighed as he ran to catch up. At least he wasn't going on an Away Mission.

By the time he made it to the rec room, Spock and George were seated on the floor, their legs in a familiar position. Being a veteran of George's Maharishi stage, he too sat down on the floor and assumed the proper position. After sitting in silence for a moment, Spock cleared his throat. "We will begin with scales." the Vulcan said.

George nodded, his face as somber as the alien's and Ringo cast a longing look at a set on bongos in the corner. He was going to be SO bored.

However, Spock surprised both of them by asking Ringo rather nicely to provide a rhythm for their scales. Happy to grasp at the straw he was being offered, Ringo scurried over and brought the bongos over, playing the beat from "And I Love Her". Spock approved and soon, the room was being filled with strange notes.

Not too bad once you get used to it, I guess. Ringo mused as he banged away. Maybe all he had to do to fit into this crazy place was act naturally.
