oops
So I posted that ship meme a few days ago and completely forgot to, you know, actually respond to it, so I figured instead of embarrassedly apologizing for myself in every comment I made, I'd just make a new entry instead. For reference (and in case anybody for some reason missed it the first time and is desperate to hear my incredibly momentous thoughts on a given pairing), here is the prompt again.

This is one of those ships that has never actually occurred to me before but I think would be a cool idea. Rise is probably my favorite of the main cast and Naoto is a character I identified with a lot when I played, so they're both high on the affection list and thus I am okay with the idea of them together, but I can't think of any particular interaction between them that I felt implied chemistry. So I don't know what the basis for this pairing is, whether they did have particularly shippy undertones or whether they are a popular fan conceit, but it's something I could certainly get behind if it's done well. As an aside, if I had to pick a ship for Rise it'd be Souji/Rise, and while I don't really ship Naoto any which way I suppose Kanji is my default for them as long as the writer/artist isn't picking up on the game's queerfail.

I am going to hastily disclaim this pairing by saying that it is my headcanon that all Entelooloos can become humanoid, not just Khroma. So it's not furry. Okay? Okay. That said: whether or not it was actually reciprocated, Duke is pretty gay for Elsie, even ten years after Elsie's unceremonious murder. That's a bit unhealthy, dude, you might want to talk to somebody about that. Sadly other than Duke's endless heartache we don't have all that much to go on with them, which is where more headcanon comes in. I personally think that it is because of Duke that Elsie has any affection for humankind at all, rather than Elsie befriending Duke because he was predisposed to have a soft spot for humans. I also picture Elsie to be something of a perpetual optimist to the point of being naive, if only to offset Duke's personality in a way that is more interesting than Vaguely Wise And Kindhearted Guy. It might be because of my personal construction of Elsie's personality that I find the fact that Khroma is apparently his daughter in the PS3 version kind of weird (though it is also because that would make Khroma ten years old which is incredibly young for a race that can live for millennia; of course that is assuming Entelooloos even mature in a way similar to humans). I dunno, man, Duke is clearly pretty hung up and there are only so many ways you can extrapolate that, and when you are me there is of course only one you are really going to choose.

I...is this a thing? Have they ever even interacted? I am pretty sure episode 08 is the only time Ivan has had an actual conversation with any other character, actually. Neither of these guys has had enough development to ship them with anyone, to be honest. I did see a Keith/Keith fanart on /a/ that I suppose that could be interpreted to be Keith/Ivan given Ivan's abilities, so there you go.

I actually don't ship these guys all that much yet, though all the fanart is undeniably hot, and there are undeniably under(over)tones that are clearly intentional. It's not that I don't see where it comes from, it's that I'm not feeling it in a really passionate sense yet. I am sure once Bunny gets properly dere and shit irreversibly gets real, I will be all over it. Until then I will sit back and wait, and enjoy all the fan fervor and the pandering in the meantime.

Yep, they're lesbians. Beyond that, all I can give you is shrugs. To be honest, I never really got attached to any of the characters in Madoka because I found them all pretty cardboard. Which I never actually minded, because I didn't feel the show was supposed to be about characters, anyway; it was about atmosphere and subverting expectations and all that junk, and it did that really well and with excellent pacing, and because of that I love the show. But the characters, for the most part, I could take or leave. I mean, my favorite's fucking Kyubey, and I think that says more about the show than it does about me. The point I am trying to make here is that because I don't really care about any of the characters I don't really care about the ships, and so while I acknowledge that Homura and Madoka are lebbie as hell they do flat nothing for me. It doesn't help that they have pretty much the exact same dynamic as my favorite lebbie pairing in one of my favorite animoos, so I feel like if I really want to ship Homura/Madoka I might as well go ship that instead, since I feel it's more well-developed anyway.
In other news, I downloaded the entirety of the first season of the Digimon dub (except I am missing episode 48 wahhh) and I am crying manly nostalgia tears. As much as I have always appreciated it, I have not properly watched this show since I was seven years old. Doing so now is a magical experience.
Robots are going all right. I have the outlines for two of the three drawings I need to do and they look pretty good, and I am going to put in details and work on starting rendering tomorrow. I had started on the third one also but for some reason all my attempts ended up looking pretty shitty and then I poured water on it by accident SOOOOO I will have to wait until Tuesday before I try that one again since the bookstore where I can get more of the paper is closed tomorrow for Memorial Day.
Comment with any ship (romantic or platonic or maybe even non-existent!) from a fandom that I am or have been been involved with, and I will rant about aforementioned ship. This may be incoherent gushing or exclamations of disgust, depending on your ship of choice.NAOTO/RISE (SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI: PERSONA 4) from
