Alchemy

Alchemy is an early protoscientific practice combining elements of chemistry, physics, astrology, art, semiotics, metallurgy, medicine, mysticism, and religion. Alchemy can be regarded as the precursor of the modern science of chemistry prior to the formulation of the scientific method.
