The Night Agent is like shopping for some nice obscure trinkets, looking at a few hardback books, even drinking some green tea and having kale for lunch at Barnes & Noble.
Meanwhile Reacher is like getting invited to a summer cookout. And you actually see a whole being Hog being slowly split-roasted on the barbecue. Folk's be chowing down grilled chicken with home made coleslaw, drinking margarita's and swigging beers. And ain't nobody complaining.
Please don't listen to any of the trolls and disgruntled naysayers.
Because For All Mankind is, still a very good sci-fi fantasy show.
And For All Mankind still delivers on it's original premise and concept's, of alternative parallel universe's of what if's,
(World history) what if the Russian's had won the late-1950-1960s space race?
And this was the original starting point that explored, cleverly diversified it's subplots and tentacles, all throughout Season One and beyond (it's not six part series but six season's).
For those people whom are actual fans of the sci-fi fantasy genre, that also have an open-minded (this, and several other Apple tv prestige sci-fi shows) this is the show for you.
There's nothing quite like when online Entertainment websites, and Marvel/Disney
continue to act completely tone-deaf, and
pretend that their sh*t don't stink.
In this case She-Hulk,
Secret Invasion,
The Acolyte (Star Wars property),
The Book of Boba Fett,
are just really bad shows that should
never ever be revisited again.
Which is a real shame.
Especially since some of the brilliant
talented involved. Which was wasted and letdown by bad script's, stupid storyline's and seasons that were only given six-episodes - instead of a minimum of 10-episodes to fully flesh out characters.
If there is one thing to get the fanboys (and the general public/armchair warrior's)
all triggered, hot & flustered - it's when any film & entertainment website, dares to say something is either a masterpiece or the best of. Which is the case here.
Typically in the comment section the fanboys people will say, "This film or show is completely overrated. Or that this boring..." And whilst everyone is more than entitled to their opinions. It always comes down to personal taste's. And we all have books, great works of art & design, film & tv show's that we will always hold in high esteem and call these the very best.
2001: A Space Odyssey was made in 1968.
And the reason why it is often quoted as being one of the very best sci-fi films is because Stanley Kubrick and production team, special effects, model makers, cinematographer, visually managed to create something that was for more than several decades way ahead of anything else, of it's time.
It is easy to overlook all of Kubrick's achievement. But it really did change the whole approach to how sci-fi fantasy movies were made. And it also inspired other great visual film maker's, production and set-designers approached the creation of their work's.
Way back in 1968, there was no blue screen, no green screen, no volume stages, no CGI, no 100s of VFX/ or sound editing software/no digital filming.
And 2001: A Space Odyssey was made on a production budget of $12 million.
By comparison, the MCU spent over 400+ million on Avengers Infinity War.
In terms of the best ever sci-fi movie(s)...
I would agree with some of the other movies being suggested by people in this comment section.
Which was a real shame, especially considering the length of the film and post production. Which as taken a few year's to create and produce. The overall look and feel of the last season was spectacular.
In particular, the last couple episodes were movie length, and most definitely had a blockbuster feel.
The negatives aside.
Kudos to the ensemble cast whom were absolutely superb. And what the Duffer Brother's and their production team, design, CGI/Visual effects, hair, costume and makeup artist - all managed to
achieve over the span of several other truly outstanding season's - has to be admired.
As for this new prequel show.
Seeing how it does not include any of the original cast of actor's, I will not be watching it.
Although I am more than interested in the Duffer's new Netflix horror show.
As soon as, I saw that, HBO's Lovecraft Country and Watchmen streaming show's made the list, I just knew that there was going to be the usual haters.
But just remind everyone (especially those amongst the fandom that seem to suffer from short-term memory loss) that both of these two HBO show's were great.
And Watchmen Tv was a brilliant adaptation of Alan Moore's original graphic novel. It ended up winning 11 Primetime Emmy award's.
Lovecraft Country...
When it originally debuted on HBO suffered from online negative Far-right review bombing.
But in spite of all of the unwarranted hate.
The show successfully adapted the theme's & ideas from H.P. Lovecraft's book's - source material. Especially when one considers H.P. Lovecraft's controversial beliefs and background.
Lovecraft Country ended up winning 25 awards including two primetime Emmy's.
So yep. Both of these show's more than deserve to be included on this list.
Netflix's Lost in Space show was absolutely brilliant. Season One being the best.
It was great to see, the showrunners, production, set design's, and strong ensemble cast, take this already established sci-fi fantasy/legacy franchise into new exciting directions.
So glad that it got three season's.
And Lost in Space managed to reach a satisfying conclusion.
Anyone new to the whole sci-fi fantasy genre, should most definitely watch this very good Netflix show.
And yep, it's best to ignore some of the other negative comments being left here.
These day's there's a minority online fandom that loves to just hate on any and everything.
Lucy Lawless (58yrs) and Renée O'Connor (55yrs) still look very good for their age and maturity.
Both would have to be recast for younger
versions. Perhaps Lucy and Renée could be involved in some shape or form, in any potential reboot? They could play other character's? But the harsh reality in 2026, Lucy and Renée have been aged out.
But, any talk of an Xena: Warrior Princess reboot would be playing on the nostalgia card. Xena does a reimagined fantasy TV show in 2026, does it still have any relevance? And apart from die hard fans of the original show still attract new viewers?
Footnote:
The AI algorithms, data and editorial, currently being used on all of these online film & Tv/Entertainment news websites, are are all wrong.
And seeing how this new show is still being filmed. And will enter into a stage of editing, post-production, where any reshoots and VFX/CGI effects can be added. It is pure speculation on Colliders part to mention scripts or plot-lines that, the HP showrunners might or might not be exploring in the First Season (not Part).
It would be fair to say that the HBO show will follow quite closely and expanded upon each of the HP books. But it still has to be adapted as streaming show.
It will differ from the original movie's.
As for trying to compare it to Amazon Prime's Ring of Power show. Please don't be silly. These two show's are vastly different in their themes, ideas, premise and concept's.
And once it finally arrives on streaming, it will continue to make money, via digital downloads and VoD.
But, this is also a case of diminishing return's something of which several other legacy franchises have also been suffering from. And how many Hollywood movies in 2025 made over One Billion, globally?
The real question is...
Will Disney green light a final fourth movie?'
Just so that Cameron can give his Avatar/Pandora universe, the fitting send-off that it really does deserve.
(There doesn't need to be a fifth movie).
It would also be good for Cameron, to get back into making and directing completely projects other than Avatar.
The cinematography, globe trotting - exotic locations, and Eddie Redmayne giving a tour-de-force of an extraordinary performance. All make for a very exciting drama. Hopefully the 2nd season will be a continuation of all of the above.
As for any petty complaints about casting choices or, changes in the overall plot-lines, it's inevitable that certain adaptations have to happen in order expand the story-arc fit into an episodic, streaming show format.

Netflix's 4-Part Spy Thriller Officially Beats ‘Reacher’ at Its Own Game
I really do like the Night Agent.
However Reacher is whole different kind of Beast.

April 2026 Will Officially Go Down As the Greatest Month in TV History for Pop Culture Fans
Calm down, calm down.
Let's just put the incessant use of 'greatest' on pause. This April could possibly be
one of the best (in terms of the return of some hugely popular streaming show's),
for a while.
By comparison, if we look at April 2016, a decade ago - when we had -
Game of Thrones
Stranger Things
Veep
Fleabag
Atlanta
The Americans
Silicon Valley
Mr. Robot
The Crown
Black Mirror
One could argue that Ten years ago, the slate of new original and the return of quality legacy franchise show's was far more stronger/superior.
There was greater choice and variety of
shows.
Also...
What's with the strange omission of Apple tv show's?
A new season of For All Mankind has just been released. And it continues be an outstanding sci-fi fantasy show.

Hence whole Season's should never be described as Part's. This is one editorial change that is completely wrong.
And it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
