About Ross Bonaime

Ross Bonaime is the Senior Film Editor at Collider. He is a Virginia-based critic, writer, and editor who has written about all forms of entertainment for Paste Magazine, Brightest Young Things, Flickchart, The Free Lance-Star, and more. Ross graduated from George Mason University with a focus in communications and journalism and a minor in film and video studies.

Ross is a Tomatometer-approved critic, a member of the Washington DC Area Film Critics Association, and a member of the Critics Choice Association. He has loved movies ever since he saw Cinderella in the theater as a kid, he can quote 10 Things I Hate About You and Wet Hot American Summer from memory, and is fascinated by all things Georges Méliès and Charlie Chaplin.

Industry Experience

I've written about entertainment for 20+ years, covering everything under the sun, including movies, television, music, video games, books, and theme parks. I've written everything from gigantic features, interviews, reviews, and love it all. I started writing for my local newspaper before I was even a teenager, and I haven't stopped since.

You can find more of my writing on Letterboxd at letterboxd.com/rbonaime.

Favorite Media

For movies, I'll basically watch anything, but I love classics, as well as pretty much anything in the Criterion Collection or Disney. Music, I also try to stay pretty open, but my heart will always be in 2000s indie rock. My favorite TV shows range from Six Feet Under to Lost and The Simpsons. My favorite books are probably High Fidelity and anything by Chuck Klosterman. Finally video games, I love The Last of Us, Super Mario World, and if you're familiar with Maniac Mansion, you'll be my best friend.
