We wrapped the FPNG SSE2 and FPNGe AVX2 encoders into a Java library and our benchmarks look promising (25 times faster than ImageIO, 7 times faster than Java PNGEncoder). Please see the details at https://github.com/manticore-projects/fpng-java with benchmarks and Maven artifacts included.
We are looking for testers and feedback on Windows and MacOS and also are interested in more benchmark results.
