カナダ楽しかったです！（まとめエントリー）Canada was fun!


おーカナダ♪
Oh Canada

本当にあという間にカナダ旅行終わっちゃいました。
My trip to Canada ended in an instant.

今回も、カナダ観光局のおかげで自分の国をよる深く知ることになりました。
Once again, thanks to the Canadian Tourism Commission, I was able to know more about my own country.

そしてカナダ人で生まれて、よかったなーと改めておもいました。
And it reminded me how lucky I am to have been born a Canadian.

最初はプリンスエドワード島に向かいました。
First I went to Prince Edward Island.

正直に、行く前に全くイメージがなかったんですが、
Honestly, I had no idea what Prince Edward Island was like…

でも、もう、ぜひいつかまた行きたいと思うようになりました。
But now I definitely feel like I want to go again.


一日目は、秋の食べ物祭り、”Fall Flavors”のイベントに参加しました。
On the first day, I participated in a food event called “Fall Flavors”.

天気よかったし、食べ物ももちろん美味しかったです。
The weather was nice, and of course the food was great.

そして次はロブスターフェスチバールに！
And then I went to the lobster festival!

みんなさん普通に、ロブスターを砂浜からとり、食べていました。
Everyone was just eating lobster casually off the beach.

今までそういうのみたことはなかったです。
I had never seen anything like that before.

そしてプリンスエドワード島と言えば、赤毛のアンですね。
And of course there’s Anne of Green Gables.

日本で大人気だったというので、見逃せなかった。
It’s so popular in Japan, so I had to have a look.

その後は、さようならと行って、ニューブランスウィック州に向かいました.
Then we said goodbye and headed to New Brunswick.

そして一日車に乗って、大自然の巡り旅行してきました。
And we took a car ride around all the great natural attractions in the area.

そしてすでに最終日がきました。
And already, our final day arrived.

せっかくニューブランスウィック州のフレドリックトン市にきたのに・・・
Just as we arrived in Fredericton, New Brunswick,

もう帰る時間が近づいてきて、本当に悲しかったです。
I was so sad that my trip was coming to and end.

だけど最後まで一所懸命楽しめました。
But I had fun until the very end.

ハーベストジャズ＆ブルーズの音楽祭りに参加して、
I went to the Harvest Jazz and Blues festival

よる遅くまで遊べました。
And stayed up allll night.

いやいやいや、本当に豪華な旅行でした。
Really, it was a luxurious trip.

一緒に行ったブロガーさんみんな親切で、元気で、仲良くなれたような気がしますし。
The bloggers I visited with were very fresh, kind, and friendly.

いつかどこかでまた会えるといいですね。♪
It’d be nice for me to see them again someday.

そしてなによりも、この経験があったのはすごく感謝しています。
I’m really thankful to have had this opportunity.

Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival! ハーベストジャズとブルーズフェスチバール

What’s Up Fredricton!?

ニューブランスウィック州のフレドリックトン市に着ました。
We came to the city of Fredericton, New Brunswick.

正直に、自分の実家、カムループス市にすごく似ていると思いました。
I actually thought it reminded me a lot of my hometown, Kamloops.

この夜は、ダウンタウンは、人の姿であふれました。
This night, downtown was overflowing with people.

大きなイベントが開催しておりました。
There was a big event going on.

道に出会った人の話によると、わざわざこのイベントに参加するために、遠くから来た人もいました。
Talking to people on the street, we found that many people came from outside the city for this event as well.

このイベントは、ハーベストジャズとブルーズの音楽祭りです。
This is the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival.


チケット取れば仕事休んでもいいぐらい大人気の祭りです。
(カナダでそんなに珍しくないですが、働きやの日本人にとってびっくりでしょう）
This festival is so popular some people skip work to attend.
(Which isn’t even a big deal in Canada, but for the hard-working Japanese, it’s surprising.)

だいたい五日間渡るイベントですが、木曜日、金曜日、土曜日がいちばんにぎやかみたいですね。
It goes on for about 5 days, with Thursday, Friday, and Saturday having the busiest schedule.

イベントは、一つの場所で行うんじゃなくて、ダウンタウンの様々なライブハウスや公園で演奏しています。
The event isn’t restricted to one place, and shows take place in venues and parks downtown.

同時に様々な場所にライブが行っていて、好きなバンドは自由に回ってみます。
Many bands play at the same time, and one can simply wander around and listen to their favorites.

バンドも豪華で素敵な演奏をしましたが、私は感動したのは、お客さんの優しさでした。
The bands were excellent and played amazing shows, but I was really impressed with the crowd’s kindness as well.

一所懸命しゃしん撮ろうとした、我々ブロガーたちが、周りの人の協力でささっとステージの元まで進めました。
Us bloggers, trying hard for pictures, were quickly allowed to the front of the stage, thanks to the people around us.

「是非、どうぞ！」って笑顔で応援してくれたライブのお客さん。
“Yeah, go on ahead!”, they would encourage us with a smile.

これは噂通り、アトランティックカナダの人はさすがに優しいですね。
Just as the rumors go, Atlantic Canadians are some of the nicest people.


ライブは次々をみて、ローカルの若者たちと盛り上がっていました。
We saw one show after another, and had fun along with the locals.

周りによいエネルギーばかりで、セキュリティガードまでも、ライブ見ながら歌詞を一緒に歌いました。
It was good energy all around, and even the security guards were mouthing the lyrics of songs as they played.

この設定で人と絡まって本当に楽しかったです。
It felt good to be amongst people in this setting.

このイベントをぜひおすすめしたいと思います。
I would recommend this event to anyone.


これでカナダの旅行が、終了します。
And this is where my trip to Canada ends.

本当にもっと長くいたかったんですけどね。
I really wish I could have stayed longer.

地元はカナダですが、広いので、西から東まで渡る人はまだまだ少ないと思います。
Canada is so huge, and I don’t think many people from the West Coast get to make it to the East Coast.

この素敵な旅に出かけられて本当に光栄です。
I’m so blessed to have had this opportunity.

私は日本へ帰国しても、カナダからリポートしているブロガーさんまだたくさんいますよ。
Even though I’ve gone back to Japan, there are still other bloggers reporting about Canada.

Beautiful New Brunswick! 大自然のニューブランスウィック州！

橋を超えて、プリンスエドワード島をでてニューブランスウィック州へ向かいました！
We left P.E.I., crossed the bridge and headed to New Brunswick!

私にとって初めてのニューブランスウィック州でした。どんなところなのか全くわかりませんでした。
To be honest, it was my first time in New Brunswick, so I had no idea what to expect.

だけどプリンスエドワード島に負けない、美しい大自然であふれました。
But just like P.E.I, it is overflowing with gorgeous nature.

川であっても、海であっても、いつも水がちかくて、きれいな青で輝いていました。
Whether it be river or sea, sparkling clean water is always nearby.


プリンスエドワード島とちがって、山があります。
Different from P.E.I, is the fact that New Brunswick has mountains.

食べ物で考えたら、海の幸も山の幸もいただけます。
In terms of food, the Japanese say “Umi No Sachi” (treasures of the sea) and “Yama no Sachi” (treasures of the mountain).

何食べても新鮮で美味しかった。
No matter what you eat, the food is fresh and delicious.


ロブスターも、ニューブランスウィック州のメニューで珍しくないみたいです。
Lobster is still quite commonly found on the menu.

このサラダ、フィッドルウヘッドサラダって呼ばれているんだけど、初めてたべました。
I ate this fiddlehead salad for the first time.

フィッドルヘッドっていうのは、若いシダの葉っぱだそうです。
A fiddlehead is apparently what you call a young curled up baby fern.

まだ巻いているうちにとられて、調理してるらしいです。
They pick them while they’re still folded up.

普段サラダ美味しく食べられない私がとても好きでした。
I don’t usually eat salad, but I really liked this.

そして、ニューブランスウィックと言えば、ファンディー港ですね。
And New Brunswick is famous for the Bay of Fundy.

ファンディー港は、世界で一番満潮が高いだと言います。
They say that the Bay of Fundy has the highest tides in the world.


観光地として有名であるHopewell Rocksに行けば、満潮と干潮の差がどれぐらい大きいのか分かります。
If you visit the very popular “Hopewell Rocks”, it’s very easy to understand the gap between high and low tide.


満潮の時は、カヤックに乗って、ツアーも出来るらしいです。
During high-tide, you can ride kayaks around the rocks, too.

もちろん日本の風景と全然違いますが、カナダの西側に育てられた私も、こういうの初めてみました。
Of course this scenery is completely different from that of Japan, but it’s also completely different from the west coast of Canada.

カナダで生まれ育った私、カナダを渡ったこともなく、自分の国に知らないところたくさんあるって気づいてびっくりしました。
Being born and raised in Canada, and never crossing the country until now, I was surprised to see so many new things.

本当にカナダにきてよかったとおもいます。
I’m so glad I could come here.

赤毛のアンの家、グリーンゲーブルズにお邪魔します！ Anne of Green Gables’s House!

こんにちは！

Did you know that Prince Edward Island has a very high concentration of Japanese tourists?
実はプリンスエドワード島の観光客って、日本人が多いのって知りましたか？

It’s because of the famous story by L.M. Montgomery, “Anne of Green Gables.”
L.M. Montgomeryが書いた有名な本、「赤毛のアン」のおかげです。

Yes, Prince Edward Island is the home of Green Gables.
そうです、プリンスエドワードアイランド。

And we decided to visit Green Gables and have a little tour of the house.
そして私は、グリーンゲーブルズに行って、ルームツアーしました。

I took a lot of pictures of the inside, so check it out!

The Pantry パントリー


Everything is so artistically placed. It feels like things had been in use only moments before.
すべての物に、置かれた場所によるセンスがあって、一秒前まで使用されたような気がしました。

Personally, I really like looking at the bedrooms.
個人的に寝室をみるのが好きでした。

My own bedroom is a tatami-room, and it’s difficult to decorate, so I appreciate this style.
自分の寝室が畳部屋だから、なかなかお洒落にデコレーションできないので、こういうの憧れます。

ゲストルーム Guest Room

And the thing about Anne’s room, is that you can almost feel for a second that she really existed.
そしてアンの部屋をみると、アンが本当に存在していたそうになります。

The room has tons of personality.
個性たっぷりの寝室です。

There is a souvenir shop nearby where you can buy Anne’s red hair, and hat.
ちかくにお土産屋さんもあって、赤毛のカツラと帽子を買うことが出来ます。

Of course, we all tried it on.
もちろん、みんな付けてみました。

赤毛のアンのファンでしたら、ぜひお勧めしたいです。

It’s like entering a magical world!
本当に不思議な世界に入り込めるのです。

P.E.I Lobster Festival! プリンスエドワード島のロブスター祭り！

や、こんにちは！　最近どう？

Sorry for being late with my Canada report!
カナダリポートはちょっとおそくなってごめんなさい！

I think most of you are aware, but I am a video blogger!
多分ほとんどの人知っていると思うんですけど、動画も投稿しています。

So I wanted to get some videos up before I continued my report!
なので、このリポートと合わせて、動画も作りたかったのです！

プリンスエドワード島の話続きます!

Surrounded by a beautiful ocean, you can guarantee that the seafood is delicious.
美しい海に囲まれていて、とにかく海鮮がめっちゃくちゃ美味しいです。

We ate so much fish on this trip.
本当にこの旅海鮮食べまくりました。

Of course Japan is known for it’s seafood as well, but the varieties here are a bit different, and the taste is something else!
もちろん魚も日本にありますが、やはり種類が違いますし、味も違いますね。

For those in Japan who prefer fish over meat, I’d say this place is paradise.
肉類より魚類が好きな日本人にたいして、この島は、天国かもしれないです。

We even attended a lobster festival!
ロブスターフェスチバールにも参加してきました。



Actually,  the month of September holds an event called “Fall Flavors” on P.E.I.
九月は、プリンスエドワードアイランドで[Fall Flavors]って言うイベントが行っています。

For the entire month, they hold culinary events, with foods from the island.
一ヶ月間ずっと、島の様々な場所に、島の材料を使ってイベントを行っています。

And of course, on Prince Edward Island, they get lots and lots of lobster.
そしてもちろんプリンスエドワード島で多く撮られるのは、ロブスターです。


今まで、人生のなかでロブスターは１か２回しか食べたことなかったんですが、
I probably only have ever eaten lobster once or twice in my life until now..

So the idea that we could just take as much as we wanted, of whatever we wanted to eat, was fresh and fun.
なので、自由に食べたいもの、食べるだけとれるってことがすごく新鮮で楽しいと思いました。

I’m going to gain about 10 lbs before I go back to Japan.
多分日本へ帰るまで５キロぐらい太ってくると思います。
