Sleep was not coming easy to Mycroft for another night. Ever since Gregory was released from the hospital, Mycroft had not been able to sleep. He spent his nights watching Gregory sleep, trying not to think about what could have happened.

He ran his fingers through the silver-touched hair of the one other person who he would go to the ends of the earth for, besides his brother. He had meant every word he said to the kidnapper. If anything had happened to Gregory, Mycroft would have spent the rest of his life getting revenge.

Gregory stirred slightly and Mycroft stilled his movements until Gregory settled back into sleep. Just because he wasn’t sleeping did not mean he must disturb Gregory’s sleep.

“Thinking too loud, My…go to sleep.”

Mycroft couldn’t help but smile softly to himself as Gregory tightened an arm around Mycroft and pulled him closer.

“My apologies Gregory.”

Gregory mumbled something before he fell back to sleep. Mycroft placed a kiss on top of Gregory’s head before finally allowing himself to relax enough to fall asleep.

He was late. If Gregory was going to carry a mobile around he should at least use it. Mycroft knew he was being irrational, but since Gregory's kidnapping he had been tense. Every little thing was a constant reminder of what he had nearly lost.

His mobile rang, showing Gregory’s number. For a fraction of a second, he tensed before answering.

“Hello.”

“Sorry My, was out for a pint with John. Apparently he and Sherlock are fighting and he needed to vent.”

“That’s quite alright, Gregory. Are you on your way home?”

“Should be home in about fifteen minutes.”

“I’ll be waiting.”

“I surely hope so. “

Mycroft leaned back in his chair after hanging up the phone. He couldn’t stop himself from smiling.

Everything was fine again in his world.
