the better to see you with

I don't mind the (slowly fading) black eye, because, as I was told earlier in the week, I "wear it like bling". Which may or may not be true - but it's nice to hear, isn't it? I do mind the bungled vision - the doctor's visit (not a specialist) resulted in the recommendation (duh) that I see a specialist. Because they just couldn't really tell. There is the possibility that instead of a retinal issue, it's got to do with the icky goo gel on the inside having pulled away from the back of the eye, which results in the same sort of symptoms but which generally resolves itself. So that's nice. However, as I was getting the basic examination they did find that - get this - my vision in that eye, despite the oogy, has somewhat improved. Now, assuming there's no real lasting damage, maybe I should see about getting popped in the other eye as well? Enough hits like that and I may be back to 20/20! That'd have to be a lot of fights, however, since I've got vision like, uh, something pretty much blind but would be clever to mention. "Blind as a bat" having been overdone, see.

I'm off to rescue the dogs. I'm going to miss living in the country. And I've been stuck in more traffic jams in the last two days than I have in the last...well, the last year. We need to start exporting some of these Austinites. We'll start with the ones who don't worship KGSR.

Mmmmm....KGSR....
