YOU CAN'T READ MY POKER FACE
My last week has been like this basically:
- that's right, running heroics while blasting Lady Gaga. Um.
I think after nearly three years of drawing into an anti-social hole of intermittent depression and constant pain and having very little fun-times-with-friends outside Cat, Becca, Dawn and D&D, I am ready to have a social life again. I went to Karaoke the other night, Rebecca's (EEEE REBECCAAAAA ♥) Birthday party tonight and have the Secret Santa party tomorrow. Usually one social gathering like that would put me out for two weeks at least. I've been such a terrible friend to so many people I really care about it's going to be hard to start making up for lost time.
Baaaww baaaww is what I'm saying, basically.
I just wanted to tell everyone how gay I am for Lady Gaga, really. I can't stop watching the video for Bad Romance. Like, I watched this shit for half an hour straight. I love her image, I love that her catchy tunes aren't trite (well, not ALL of them are trite. 'Paparazzi' and some others from her first album drive me nuts despite the amazing video) and I especially love how a good deal of her videos juxtapose hyper-sexuality with very self aware violence that makes you feel a little uncomfortable for enjoying it. Most of all, I like that absolutely everything about her image and her presentation of her sexuality is clearly done on her own terms. Seriously, I am not at all big on UNST UNST UNST UNST club pop music, but I think Lady Gaga might be the best thing to happen pop in a long, looooong time. ♥
Although I don't think most people get the joke. :P
