The Adventure of the Flea Bathed Felines

So we gave Dawn's cats flea baths today which- I can assure you- was a heroic feat worthy of praise and tribute. Duo made some of the most pathetic and terrible noises I've ever heard coming out of a living creature in my life and Whisper took a good chunk out of my hand when we threw her in the water. Lucky (the insufferable hell-cat she is) was never so disagreeable.

Our picnic yesterday was lovely. There was a small window of fantastic weather that we managed to utilize to it's fullest. Ashley took dozens of gorgeous pictures, some of which I'll probably end up posting later in the week. The fly in the ointment here is that afterwards, my leg decided to go on strike and is in more pain today than it's been in for nearly six months. I could hardly sleep last night and spent the better part of today limping around. I'm thinking the pain might have something to do with the fact that I spent a good portion of the picnic climbing a tree in skirt and high heels. Lollerpop. o__O

BUT NEXT WEEK IS A BUSY ONE. Between Canada Day (which is actually this week, I suppose), Margaret's Birthday Barhopping Adventure and the new Pirates of the Caribbean premiere, I also have to register for my University courses. I'm thinking I'll end up going to registration in a pirate costume since I'll probably be going to the movie immediately afterwards. Uh- not that I'd ever pass up the chance to wear a ridiculous outfit to an important social event.

AND IT'S OFFICIAL. House, MD finally did it for me and like the other 99.2% of North America I'm hopelessly addicted to it. Which I'm glad for in retrospect since it inspired me to go back and start re-reading my Sherlock Holmes serials. Which I haven't touched since I was in fourth grade (oh, was I ever obsessed with detectives back in the day ♥). However, reading Sherlock Holmes also makes me want to watch lots of film noir and track down some of those old detective radio dramas I listened to all summer in Ottawa way back in the day. *sigh* Haha, I need a job.

Oh, and Cat? This is for you:

PS: Hannah! I was wondering if you'd happen to have an MP3 of Moxy Fruvous' song about the war of 1812. You know- the one about burning the White House down?
