Listens: Take On Me; A-ha

"I almost laugh to tears!"

Ugh. I was really sick yesterday. Well, not really sick- my standards for a "bad flu" have changed somewhat since March. As long as I'm not hospitalized, I'm a-okay. But still, I couldn't do much except lay on the couch watching Star Trek and South Park while moaning about how much pain I was in. Yaaaay.

On TUESDAY, however, I actually... existed. Y'know. That thing we sometimes do (unless you're one of those lame existentialists who is skeptical about that).

YES. SO. I had a job interview at SUPERSTORE oh god, shut up, I *know*- but it's different! Really! They want me to work in the Deli, which is about a thousand times better than working cash so, yeah. I mean- I need money, so if I get it, I'll take it. I may have too much pride for my own good, but I'm not stupid. After my interview, I finally (FINALLY!) went and signed up to be a member at Laing House (the mental illness safe house... thing, for those of you not familiar with it). I'm not sure how much it'll help (although I've been oddly... stable since November, albeit a little un-ambitious), but I'll see how it goes. The guy who signed me up mentioned that they need more public speakers to go to High Schools come fall and asked if I would be interested. I was all: "Dude, I just signed up." and he was all: "Yeah, but I first MET you during Model Parliment." and I was like: "Oh yeah. That'll look SOOO good on my resume XDDDD".

Later, I met Caily and Leslie at Tim Hortons and we went COMIC BOOK SHOPPING because, uh, we're geeky nineteen year old girls and Strange Adventures is totally the place to be. We also picked up Adam and went on a MAGICAL ROAD TRIP down to Bayside Summer camp, after which we picked up JENN FURGESON!!! *dance* and went to go listen to classical records in Leslie's basement Oh yes, there's nothing like Toccata and Fugue in D Minor on two foot high speakers. MY SOCIAL LIFE IS SO EXTREME. LOLLERPOP.

To make this post less (or possible *more*) random, I took pictures of my bedroom (the chaotic place it is) which I'm planning to use to make a layout for my website. I decided to post them here as well because, uh, I dunno- my bedroom is kind of cool. XD

Yes, my bedroom IS that dark. I HATE overhead lighting with a burning passion that can probably be attributed to the fact that my room in our last apartment HAD no overhead light (seriously, it was bizzare). Well, that and the fact that I find dim lighting calming and have an oddly inherent dislike of sunshine unless I'm in an EXTREMELY good mood and, y'know, having a picnic or something. OH, LOOK AT ME. I'M SUCH AN EMORIFFIC VAMPIRE. I also keep three layers of blankets and straw mats over my window so I am capable of achieving pitch black in the middle of the day. XD Also, observe what would have been a lovely Ryuuguu poster HAD THE PRINTER NOT CUT IT OFF.

I included this shot just because the lighting is nice and you can see 1) my lovely collection of random bottles with candles in them and 2) my Fox Mulder poster.

I HAVE SO MANY BOOKS. o__O I think books are probably the only thing I spent my allowance on as a kid. Well, that and video game magazines. The sad thing is that I still have at least two full boxes of books, unpacked, in the storage room.

Probably the only part of my bedroom that isn't a complete and utter mess (well, it wasn't when I took this picture at least). I only included this because of my lovely Lobster collection. XD Oh yeah, and all my dollar store tapes containing bootlegged anime o_O

OKAY, SO MY MONITOR IS SMALL AND CRAPPY AND UGLY, but my computer is top of the line and isn't that what matters? The quotes on my computer read as this:
"Why don't you try defying gravity?" (the musical, 'Wicked')
"Your haiku insults have no effect on me." (YEAH, I LIKE SOUTH PARK)
"The truck have started to move." (Old skool Metal Gear FTW)
"Do not act rationally, my child!" (Disney's Notre Dame verbal typo)
"I am dumb." (oh, Shakespeare)
"How dare you indulge in these filthy, human pleasures!" (ahahaha, a Ryuuguu quote from... eight grade. XD)
"I'm gonna go MUFU on yo' ass!!" (..... you had to be there. But Citan Uzuki is pretty awesome)
ALSO, BE IN AWE OF MY REALLY AWESOME AL PACINO POSTER. IT IS SO AWESOME.

OHMYGOD! NOT MORE BOOKS! AHHHH! These, however, are my "geek" bookshelves. On the left you'll see my collection of graphic novels, X-Files books and fanfiction binders. On the right, my meticulously organized Manga, anime, video game and DVD collection. And, uh, in the middle! My violin, a dictionary of word origins and a season one X-Files poster with a garish color scheme! (hey, I totally bought that in fifth grade, okay). HEY LOOK, I OWN GUNDAMS! But really, which self respecting geek DOESN'T own Gundams?) Personally, I'm more proud of my Evangelion lego. XD

And in conclusion, I know nothing about interior design and I like it that way.
