Listens: Static on the Radio; Jim White

Adventures in job hunting and delusions of grandeur

I applied for a job as a radio host at... well, one of the local stations at least. There's apparently five positions open, one of which is most likely for 96.5FM. We've surmized that they're probably hiring for the new station that's opening, which would be pretty cool. Experience isn't required, but it is an asset and, ha ha, of all the practical things I *don't* have experience in I have helped host a radio show before so, uh, let's cross my fingers and here's to hoping I at least get an interview.

My mom suggested today that I start putting together a publishing package for Illuminati. Ideally, I'd like to wait until the book is finished to approach a publisher, but it's never too early to start looking besides, publishers have been known to hire on half a manuscript... ha ha, like I'll ever get *that* lucky. Either way, it's a good thing to keep me busy and productive when I have writer's block. Now, if only I could think of how to accurately summarize the story in a way that a) emphasizes the fact that it's not your typical story about supernatural teenagers and b) doesn't include a lot of pretentious, abstract-metaphorical bullshit.

Balance is the thing I'm looking for here. Yaaaaaay.

Three weeks and a day, almost a month and no word from them. Lacey half suspected that one of them would show up at her doorstep asking for help (sopping wet, of course, as seemed customary these days. Thank you mother nature, metaphorical being that you are). She could see the ghost of Zachairah through the window, eyes pleading, hands shaking, breath shallow and words so immaculately clipped you could have cut diamonds with them. She could see Nell, hands on her hips, lips pursed and eyes sparkling with some sort of malevolent glee. Oh you're in a tight spot now Lacey, aren't you?

Oh, Lacey. You hate those guys SOOOOO much.

Gugh. Why am I so tired? -____-;; On the bright side, I'm glad Duckman is just as funny as it was when I was ten years old STFU. I LIKE 90'S CARTOONS.. Now excuse me, I have random sci-fi novels yoinked from my mother's book collection to read.

PS: CAT!!! my mom lent me her copy of the 'Poisoden Adventure' novel if you, ahahahaha, actually *want* to read it.

EDIT: Also, I must rant about the awesomeness of Kappei Yamaguchi (most notable, the Japanese VA for Inuyasha) who I previously thought was cool because he played Usopp. Which is still cool, but he also acted the Japanese voices of RAT TRAP!!!, Bugs Bunny and Rapp (from Grandia).

But that's not the coolest part. The coolest part is that he also plays Kyle Broflovski!!! in the Japanese dub of South Park. ♥

MORE EDIT: And on a note Ashley would appreciate, Kappei Yamaguchi also voiced Cory in the 'Boy Meets World' dub. (They have 'Boy Meets World' in Japan? o__O)
