Tzipporah Hawke's father was a Fereldan elf of Tevene(South Asian) heritage and her mother is Ashkenazi Jewish. She was raised cautiously Jewish, given the political influence of the Chantry, and as an adult purposefully passes as human so as not to draw suspicision to herself as an apostate with minor magic. She's a duelist who prefers to use a rapier or two daggers when fighting rather than magic for this reason.
Naomi Scott is of Indian and English descent. Her nose is smaller than Tzipporah's and she's a couple shades lighter in skintone, but her face shape, eyes, and hair texture are quite similar.
Bethany Hawke (Tzipporah)

Tzipporah's sister Bethany is Ashkenazi and South Asian and was raised cautiously Jewish. Unlike her sister Bethany looks more 'obviously' elven and Tevene, so I wanted her FC to reflect that. Deepika Padukone is entirely Indian, unlike Naomi Scott, and she's a few years older than I would've liked but her face shape, skintone and eye shape remind me of Bethany a lot.

According to her codex Merrill is originally from Nevarra, which was architecturally influenced by Egypt, and the word 'Sabrae'(the name of her new clan) is the same as the Hebrew word for 'cactus'. In DAO she was a lot darker than in da2, so it made sense to me to cast a Middle Eastern actress for her. Medalion Rahimi is Iranian-American and has the same gently square face that Merrill has. She also has a lovely elfy nose.
