Title: Better Late Than Never

Haru stares as Akiyuki without saying a word. He offers a hesitant grin but her expression doesn't change.
"I'm sorry." The words spill from his mouth and Akiyuki frowns at how ridiculous they sound but he cannot think of anything that would possibly express his thoughts. Looking at Haru, Akiyuki wishes she would say something. He would even welcome her yelling if it meant she would talk to him.
The minutes feel like hours as the silence passes between them. A slight hiccup catches his attention and Akiyuki can only blink as he sees the tears well up in Haru's eyes. Her face softens and a small smile appears as she steps forward to embrace him. "You're late."
