When the Jews return to Zion and a comet fills the sky
When the Holy Roman Empire rises then you and I must die
From the eternal sea he rises creating armies on either shore
Turning man against his brother til man exists no more

What's really sad is I didn't have to look it up to know that entire thing. lol So the last couple days I've been watching The Omen on AMC. The original one. The good one. I've seen it before, but not since the remake came out. Now I liked the remake, I did. Mostly because I LOVE Liev Schreiber and David Thewlis. What I'm not sure of is why it was made to begin with.

The remake, while entertaining enough, goes for those cheap scares. Those retarded dream sequences? What was with that? The only thing really unsettling in the remake is the beginning with the priests talking about end times and showing the pictures of....everything that's been going on lately. (9/11, etc). The original one still manages to freak me out a little. It goes for mood over everything, and does a great job of it.

If I ever do become a director (and I know it's not always their choice) I don't want to do a remake unless the original really sucked and I KNOW I can do better.

But please, somebody let me know when they're remaking The Exorcist (because you just know it's coming) because that's when I give up on modern horror.
