I'm not going to lie, I was seriously considering taking this year off. Life and hardcore movie watching have not really meshed this year and I was worried that making homework out of what little time I do have for the cinematic arts would only worsen that relationship. I also have been more re-watch heavy this year than I ever have been before so I was hoping to continue that trend into Halloween season and revisit some horror favorites that I annually bar myself from by way of a self imposed rule of no rewatches for Hooptober.
And then I saw the amazing slate of requirements for the 10th anniversary of Hooptober. It's probably my favorite one to date.

And then I saw the amazing slate of requirements for the 10th anniversary of Hooptober. It's probably my favorite one to date.
I was able to meet all criteria with 18 new to me movies--18 movies I am really excited to check out. I feel like I say that every year but I REALLY mean it this year, okay?! This will leave me 13 free watches to hit the requisite 31 watches where I can revisit some favorites. But even if I only get through the 18 required ones I'll consider it a win for this year. Watches will start on September 15th, everything will be tagged with "Hooptober X", any free watches will be marked as such a tacked on at the end of the list.
Happy Hooptober, everyone!
