silos1 aka Francesco’s review published on Letterboxd:
to prepare myself for watching the second remake in Spike's filmography (Da Sweet Blood of Jesus), i decided to recover this film, which i didn't know at all tbh
it was a rather complex and articulated journey, so much so that i needed a few days to metabolise what i had seen 🫠
an extreme representation (but not too much, given the times we live in) of pleasure, selfishness, opportunism and above all addiction
told through the decadence of the black upper middle class of the 70s
i must admit that i was ready to reject it
but fortunately, i'm a patient and understanding guy, who lets what he sees "ferment" inside himself 😋
it can be found easily: between yt, dailymotion, the internet archive and telegram, there was some good man who made it available for everyone
do yourself a favor and watch it 😁😁
