I honestly had no intention of watching this movie until I saw the full cast and thought it could at least be entertaining if nothing else and I can say that it definitely was. I'd like to think of it as more of a satirical take on Michael Myers because there have been questions like "Why is he doing this? Why is he evil?" and this film tries to answer that question in the most over the top way possible by giving him a trashy family and surrounding him by the biggest jerks, making him sympathetic to the audience in a way. I personally wouldn't have minded to see Michael struggle with his inner demons or him having a reason to kill because this is a remake after all but it was all done in a way that's almost laughable. It has a few nice moments here and there and it does try to do its own thing for a good chunk of the film. Michael himself actually freaks me out more than the one from the original as he's more brutal but I still can't say that he's better than the one from the original. The profanity is something that the movie could've done without honestly. Still, it's a guilty-pleasure of mine and I like to watch it again from time to time as there's still a lot of stuff to enjoy in it.
