Hooptober X Film #30 of 37
5 Films from De Palma, Wes Craven, Ken Russell, Hitchcock and/or Moorehead & Benson
I tried to give this another go and it just wasn’t it. I love Craven, he’s one of my favorite horror directors. He started two legendary franchises that are some of my favorites of the genre. Before those, he was making more grindhouse and disturbing type films like Last House on the Left and The Hills Have Eyes. While I really love Last House, Hills is not a favorite. I find it kinda bland and tedious, being just another grindhouse slasher of the 70s. The characters are boring, it’s pretty slow, and it’s just not interesting. Maybe with a third watch something will click, but for now I’m just not impressed
