Outrageously gory and goofy. I wasn’t expecting to be so revolted by much of the gore, but gosh dang this thing was insane! Many moments I was shriveling up on the inside, so I gotta hand it to the effects team for succeeding in grossing me out so much. This has to be the goriest movie I have ever seen, hands down. Asides from the gore though, I found it to be way too goofy for my liking. I feel most of the horror movies I’ve seen from New Zealand are riddled with screwball comedy that just isn’t my thing. The part that I can’t wrap my head around is that Peter Jackson directed this. That man was up to some seriously messed up stuff before LOTR. Absurdly ridiculous in the best way
