Best movie of the year so far.

It's probably the most interesting looking year for movies in a long time. It seems like a good balance between all the old recognized directors and new ones with interesting outlooks.

It's hard to get critical and like all analytical and try to suck the fun out of this one so I'm trying to work my way around it.

It's aged nicely.

I remember I first saw it when it came out with my cousin Evan in an empty movie theater and when we walked out there was this x files men in black guy who halted us and started saying stuff about how this is the plan for 2030 and it gets worse by 2046 we're all Chinese and he pointed at this map with checkmarks on every country and said this is what they all signed up…

This close to giving up on 2025.

The movie is a continuation of Gareth Evans working with Netflix on films that lack a soul and most importantly the main essence of his other work.

It tries to be Sin City, it uses too much slow motion and most of it basically looks like a videogame.

The plot was difficult to keep track of. Tom Hardy’s always interesting but there’s little he can do to save it.
