I tried "The Tingler" once in college... and it was kinda exciting, albeit a bit awkward. But still...

Oh, not that kinda "Tingler"?
Gotcha.

So, as we all know: Vincent Price is THE MAN, and dude does not disappoint. Lots of fun to be had in this flick. Lots of fun!

Director William Castle loved himself some gimmicks. And this movie was full of 'em. Would have loved to be in the audience back then and experienced the 4D silliness he was busting out: seat shockers, bean bags rolling down in-between the seats, feathers on legs, fainting "audience member plants" to get people stirred up... I mean, all kinds of crazy stuff.

Love it.

Plus in the middle of this B&W movie, a creepy hand/arm reaches out of a bathtub full of blood and it's IN COLOR - BLOOD RED COLOR and it is jarring when you've been watching in black and white and the rest of the background remains B&W. Great cleverness there.

Great tension and an overall sense of uneasiness rests throughout this film. You're not sure what they are gonna try on you (and the characters we're following), so it keeps you a bit antsy. Very well done.

A fun little 50's campy horror/thriller that's quite enjoyable.
