I heard great things about TALK TO ME, and it did NOT disappoint. I'm a sucker for films based around newer urban legends, like IT FOLLOWS and THE RING.

It's very mean-spirited, which I dug. There was one scene in particular where I had my hand over my mouth saying "No no no don't do it!" so you know I enjoyed it. Sophia Wilde gave an AMAZING performance -- I got shades of Heather Langenkamp from A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, just constantly at her wit's end and about to snap at any moment.

I'm amazed that the Philippous were YouTube comedy guys. I've seen one of their Ronald McDonald videos and let's just say I did not expect them to make the best horror film of 2023. Another big win for the comedy-to-horror pipeline.

Since the kids film each other a lot in this, I would've loved to have seen the social media aspect play a bigger role. But maybe that's where the sequel or prequel will go.
