This is why I firmly and wholeheartedly believe that good things come to those who wait… and I’ve been patiently waiting and waiting and waiting for this film - and Obsession was incredibly worth every single second.
The way it is shot and the performances and the sound and the score and just everything.

Finished the book a few hours before seeing this in 70mm IMAX and it did not disappoint.
Project Hail Mary really puts you smack dab into the world of the story it’s telling. It was incredible seeing it in a format that really just pushes the film to its limits - which in return gives you a beautiful and exceptional viewing experience.
Ryan Gosling was really impressive here - especially in the scenes where…

Saw a post on X that said “describing this movie is like trying to describe a dog to someone who’s never seen one before.” and I couldn’t agree more.
Backrooms is just one of those films you have to see for yourself.

Sort of a Babe meets Knives Out situation here and I’m not mad about it.
The Sheep Detectives uses an excellent cast (both live-action and voice), along with some solid visual effects to really craft a solid story of understanding grief and belonging. It’s a funny and charming whodunnit that has a feel good aura about it - even if it’s pretty predictable.
And although I still have trust issues from Craig Mazin (since he unfortunately did The Last of Us dirty), his writing works fine in this family friendly, murder mystery that I think many will enjoy.
You wished for this.
Round 2 for me. Just as good as the first.
There was a person next to me who was extremely uncomfortable (and they ended up leaving halfway through!) and another dude near me who was laughing hysterically throughout the entire film.
Get you a film that can scare the socks off ya, but can also make you cough up a lung from laughter.
Obsession will ABSOLUTELY do that for ya.
You know something? Maybe once a week, I wake up paralyzed, reliving that night. But before the sun went down, I think that was the best day of my life. Was it like that for you?
Still my favorite film of the year. Had to catch the reissue of this in IMAX as well.

The performances are great.
The storytelling is crisp.
The intensity is high.
The music is fire.
The film is pure cinema.
Sinners just hits different. It’s for the culture.
And for that, I absolutely love it.
