Even if Frank Marshall’s Arachnophobia originally presents itself as a sort of low-budget, cheesy, Walmart bin DVD; there is actaully so much going for it that by time the final moments hit, you realize you just had such an enjoyable experience. I know for a fact I went into this not expecting all too much and with a premise like this I thought that it would get way too close to a cheese-fest, but in actuality the film makes for a really interesting and fun film. It takes things just serious enough to make it worthwhile. On top of that, bringing in a great Jeff Daniels and an equally funny John Goodman, the overall film is something that show how works as best as it can. Now I’m not saying this is some misunderstood masterpiece of some sort, but damn did I enjoy the hell out of this. It’s got enough belief in itself to work and I definitely recommend this to each and any one of you.
